Intel is preparing new Atom processors………..
Is known to replace the current chip Atom N270 comes a new development – the CPU Atom N450, which is also known by the code name for Pineview. Operating frequency of the processor will increase slightly – 1,66 Hz against 1.6 predecessor.
Development of Atom processors are in the same direction as the developed and the main processor family Intel. In the Atom N450 is only one core, but will use technology Hyper-Threading, essentially emulates two nuclei. It is expected that over time the market will fully fledged multi-core processors Atom Series N.
Produced Atom N450 processor will be using 45-nm process.
The new Atom N450 will be integrated memory controller and graphics core GMA500. As chipset Intel recommends its chipset NM10 Express, which is also known under the code name Tiger Point.
The main application processor Atom – a low-cost netbooks with screen sizes of 11 inches. It is assumed that such devices on the new Atom processor will cost from 400 to 600 U.S. dollars.
Experts expect that sales of chip Atom N450 start in October 2009. According to available data, production processing Atom N270, N280, 230 and 330 will be discontinued no later than the II quarter of 2010.
